How to use
Enter a pressure and pick the units — the result and a table in every pressure unit appear instantly.
Definitions
- 1 psi (pound per square inch) ≈ 6.895 kPa.
- 1 bar = 100 kPa ≈ 14.5 psi.
- 1 standard atmosphere = 101.325 kPa = 14.696 psi = 760 mmHg.
- 1 inch of mercury (inHg) ≈ 3.386 kPa — used in US weather reports.
Examples
- 32 psi (a common tire pressure) = 2.21 bar = 220.6 kPa.
- 35 psi = 2.41 bar.
- 2.2 bar (a European tire spec) = 31.9 psi.
FAQ
Is bar the same as atmosphere? Close: 1 bar = 0.987 atm. For tire pressure the 1–2% difference doesn’t matter, but the table shows exact values.
What’s normal atmospheric pressure? 29.92 inHg = 1013.25 hPa (millibars) = 14.7 psi.
