How to use
Pick a system and enter a size — you’ll see it in the other systems along with foot length. If you know your foot length, choose “Foot length, cm”: it’s rounded up to the next 5 mm so the shoe isn’t shorter than your foot.
How the systems work
- US and UK sizes step by a third of an inch (8.47 mm) but start from different points. US men’s is one size above UK, and US women’s is one size above US men’s.
- European (EU) sizes count the last length in Paris points of 2/3 cm.
- Foot length in millimeters (Mondopoint, ISO 9407) is the most precise.
The chart follows the foot-length conversion in Wikipedia’s “Shoe size” article. Lasts vary between brands, so half-size differences are normal — check the maker’s own chart before buying.
Examples
- US men’s 10 = EU 42.5 = UK 9, foot 27 cm (10.6 in).
- US women’s 7.5 = EU 38.
- A 24.3 cm foot = US women’s 8, EU 38.5.
FAQ
How do I measure my foot? Stand on paper, mark your heel and longest toe, and measure between the marks. Measure both feet in the evening and use the larger one.
What about kids’ sizes? Not included — children’s scales vary too much between countries and brands for one reliable chart.
