How to use
Pick the date and, if you like, the time of your event — the timer instantly shows how many days, hours, minutes and seconds are left. By default it counts down to the next New Year. The date and time are saved in the page address, so you can bookmark or share your countdown.
The countdown follows your device’s clock and time zone. If the date has already passed, it shows how much time has gone by since.
Examples
- Days until New Year — just open the page.
- Days until a birthday or vacation — pick the date; leave the time at midnight.
- Time until a deadline — enter the date and time, such as 5:00 PM.
- Days until Christmas — pick December 25.
FAQ
Does it count today? The timer counts the exact time from now. On the evening of December 30, for example, it shows 1 day and some hours until New Year, not 2 days.
Why is the number of days different from the days calculator? The days between dates calculator counts calendar days and ignores the time of day. Here hours count too, so a partial day isn’t included in the number of days.
